Windows 2007 Review
By H. Ariniga
I bought this book as a course requirement for a college computer literacy course. I have found this book to be a good starting point for the absolute beginner. You really need to use the included CD-Rom disc in order to complete the given exercises. The text is primarily composed of exercises based upon the templates included on the CD-Rom. If you have even the remotest familiarity with Windows 2007 and it's various programs then you will probably find more help within the Windows help menus rather than the text itself. This text was written and intended for the absolute beginner and is in no way meant to be, or usable as, a desk referrence.

The review section is not for the received condition of the item...
By Friedman Sowell
**--Folks, the review section is for the item itself, not the condition of the item received!--**
This book is written in a step-by-step format and quickly becomes mind-numbing. This is learning by rote vs. comprehension; focusing on the process vs. the reasoning behind the process. Much of the terminology is incorrect in the exercises, and is inconsistent with the reading sections.
If you're forced to use this book, my condolences. If you have a choice, run - don't walk, to another book as fast as your feet can carry you.

Hacked
By Nurse Nancy
The computer book I received for the price was wonderful and it was new with a CD program. I especially liked it when my bank account was hacked into right after I ordered this book. This was the first time I ever used Amazon to order a book for school. I'm not sure I will order from this site using this method of payment again.
