Nice computer for the price....

Look, this isn't a high end gaming machine. I bought it for my daughter to replace a 15 month "old" HP laptop that had major screen problems 10 months after I purchased it new, Hewlett-Packard then jerked me around for 2 months (and 9 days - claiming it was a "software" problem). After the warrantee expired they THEN determined that it was indeed a hardware problem but then claimed the warrantee had expired -- BY NINE DAYS! But not to worry for 485 USD they would fix it. Now wasn't that generous of them? I vowed not to buy another Hewlett-Packard piece of junk with their poor service and support.

I wish the screen on this Acer was a bit higher resolution but considering I only paid $[...]bucks for this laptop the price and the performance is really amazing. My daughter seems to like it since it runs Sims 3 just fine. Oh yeah, and Facebook. Ha ha. It could probably run Flight Simulater X with the settings turned down but a game like Crysis with the settings cranked up might be another story. But hey that is not what this computer is for.

I think in this market any brand of laptop would be a great purchase -- just stay away from the Hewlett-Packard laptops -- they are prone to failure. BTW, shortly after I bought my daughters HP laptop my sons Hewlett-Packard 21" laptop's Blu-Ray disk drive failed (just out of warrantee). Too be fair the power supply on the 21" failed but that WAS replaced under the warrantee (after spending about 4.5 hours trying to convince them it was the power supply --- Duh....) The power supply failed after only a few months and I guess HP figured they couldn't jerk me around for 8 months waiting until the warrantee expired. They did try to test my patience but finally sent a replacement power supply. Whoop dee do.
