A nice, large laptop that can hold its own against other competitors.

What a treat, when I first received this I was a bit skeptical in how well the laptop would run. However, I was in for a surprise when I set everything up and gave it a try. That means deleting useless programs that come with the computer and putting in ones from the previous desktop. (the desktop would never have a chance with this thing)
The monitor is just enormous, which if you like big laptops you'll love this. Mind you though that moving this thing is sluggish, but manageable enough to forgive. Because hey now, you're getting a huge laptop! The screen is very clear
The processor is fast, I was able to run any program I used without stuttering or failing compared to previous computers.
The RAM is high, don't be expecting to wait anytime soon with this thing. 4GBs is a lot of RAM.
I'm not familiar with how 64-bit operating systems work, so I can't comment on that.
The hard drive space is 500GB, way more than I ever had combined. I can't say I won't use a lot though, hehehe.
Although, even with all these perks I have one part I'm not as content with.
The graphics. What you're getting here isn't some specific graphic card, but some thing called Intel HD Graphics. I mean, they're okay and all, but they weren't as satisfactory as I was expecting. Some games I ran I could set to some pretty high settings, but the rest I had to live with lower. Which is me probably being picky because it was a Christmas present, hehe.
The second problem I had is the top part of the laptop (behind the monitor) smudges really easy from the oil in your fingers. I hate smudges, but again, it's a very minor complaint.
Anyway, all in all this is a very nice laptop for the price. A little on the pricey side for me, but I'll live.
Been using this laptop for 13 days now, not a problem with anything but any foolish mistakes I do.

Wow, Amazon

Amazon continues to impress.
Doing a search via Google, the next 'lowest' price on this laptop is $750.00. Oddly, that made me feel better when considering Amazon's low price, because...you get what you pay for.
I received the package on time, as usual for Amazon.
The speakers on this laptop are the best I've ever had on any laptop. The screen is crystal clear, and the glare is minimal for me.
The keyboard will take some getting used to, because of the way the buttons are 'elevated' on their springs.
The processor is very fast; starts up/shutsdown quickly (though I believe this is in part to Windows 7 mostly).
The overall design/feel of the laptop is good, and not 'cheap' feeling, although I have reservations about 2 things:
1 - The mouse buttons; it's one piece of material apparently attached in the middle, with both ends being 'clickable'. This seems 'cheap' to me.
2 - The hinges are rather short; barely an inch in length, so I'm not too sure how the screen will fare as far as wobbliness.
Other than that, for Amazon's price, the blue-ray, the excellent speakers, the big beautiful screen, the fast processor..I think this is a great deal for those who don't want to spend alot to get alot.

Lots of computing power on a budget!

My computer is my best friend. I am one of those people that live on the computer. I do EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING on my computer.
I was using an HP Notebook that I got back in February 2007 and paid about $1900 (before software). This machine is so much more powerful and so much less expensive.
I've had no problems whatsoever with this computer. It came out of the box, plug and play! Its really pretty, sleek and black. Its very slim and sexy looking.
I really like that it plays Blu Ray DVD's and you can burn CD's that can be used as USB storage devices, in other words, you can save files to the CD and then also use the CD to burn some more files, delete files, whatever! Its fast too!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the volume. When you have the volume at the highest setting, its still not enough. To remedy this, I bought another little gadget from Logitech, a Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 which is a sound bar that clips on to the top of the monitor and connects to one of the 4 USB ports on the notebook. (About $50 on Amazon.com) I'm getting very high quality "surround" sound now.
I would highly recommend this notebook to anyone that needs a good fast machine for either business use or home use. I use Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe X, Skype, Quicken to name a few, all with no issues whatsoever! If you like to travel, this may be a bit big for you, but I am using this as my primary computer, thereby eliminating the need for a desktop. I have traveled with it, its not heavy, but the size may be an issue for some people. In that case, you might want to just take your little netbook along which literally fits in your purse or backpack!
