There are better notebooks available.

I purchased this notebook for internet and emails/webcam chat. Although I planned to use this for a little of everything else. Well I must say I am a little dissapointed. I expect a little more from Samsung. The computer itself has a nice sleek look. The computer has a charge for a little under 6 hours with a full battery, which is far less then the 13 hours they are claiming. The computer itself is slow, bogged down by all the extra junk they put on here and the fact that the operating system is Windows 7 Starter. This is my first experience with Windows 7 so I was a little new, but Windows 7 Starter is crap, you can't even put a background pic on your desktop. I upgraded the memory from the 1GB that it came with to the max (2GB). The difference is not much, but is better. The computer locks up sometimes for no reason, a big pet peeve for me. I do like the sleep mode that revives itself with 5-7 seconds, not the 3 seconds that the computer claims. Still a nice feature. The webcam gives a decent picture, not great, but not bad by any means. I was replacing a bigger Toshiba laptop with this and have already told my wife this netbook is her's when I get home.

PROS:
Long battery life (although not as long as claimed by company)
Sleep mode comes to in 5-10 seconds ( not three seconds as claimed by Samsung)
Good Webcam (although had to delete webcam program that came with it)


CONS:
inadequate processor (slow)
bunch of junky programs on CPU
Operating system is junk ( Windows 7 Starter is crap)


Closing: with over 1 month with product

I am very dissapointed to say the least.

I expected more from Samsung.

All the expectations I had for this computer from reading reviews were misleadings.

I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Felt deceived with the battery duration

The technical details of the product inform that it comes "With a battery that lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge; you can work all day without ever slowing down". Not true! Even dimming the backlight to reduce energy consuption, the battery only lasts 6 hours!!! Very very very frustrating!

All as described with a top performance and easy to carry when travelling. Highly recomended for those on the move. Could benefit from a bigger RAM but very good as it is
